In honor of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, join Tere from the Syracuse branch of the WOC for a fun and informative workshop on demystifying the biology of cycles, how to have better cycles, what your cycle can tell you about your health, aligning your productivity with your cycle, and how your cycle can help you honor your physical and emotional needs throughout the month.
Over the course of a lifetime, women and people who menstruate will experience an average of 450 menstrual cycles, and spend 3,500 days, or 7 years menstruating. Much of the language and mindset around menstrual cycles is negative, calling it "the curse" or condemning our monthly bleed to being an inconvenience, or a bother.
However, cycles consist of so much more than just the days spent menstruating, and certainly do not need to be a "curse" or inconvenience. The average person isn't given and education in the biology of their menstrual cycle, nor the information to care for themselves and their cycles, to reduce possible problematic side effects. In fact, most folx are unaware that cycles are actually an indicator of health, and understanding your cycle can be a great way to align with your cycles of rest and productivity, physical fitness, nutrition needs and so much more.
