The main goal of WOC is to help individuals in any way possible with their job search and training goals. We offer many levels of assistance.
- Monthly and specially scheduled workshops - skill identification, goal setting, communication, resume writing and interviewing, financial literacy, nutrition, healthy relationships, divorce and separation legal informational workshops, continuing education and training information.
- One-on-One assistance for those who qualify - In a comfortable and confidential setting, participants are invited to share their challenges and concerns about the job search. Together, participant and employment counselor develop a plan for achieving employment goals. Resume creation and revision, cover letter writing, successful interviewing strategies, and job leads are some of the basic tools of the job search that can be developed through individual assistance. Difficulties and concerns are handled through careful listening, constructive problem solving and appropriate community referrals. This process can be vital to participants’ success in getting and keeping a good job and pursuing educational and training goals to improve success in the job search and improve wages.
- Independent Resources - You may prefer to work independently. Those with strong word processing skills are encouraged to use our computer lab to type their own resumes and cover letters. Remember, we’re always here if you want help.
There is also a job board on-site that is updated weekly. Participants are invited to check out this valuable resource at their convenience (no appointment necessary) during the hours the Center is open.
